Townsville is North Queenslands largest city and boasts some top fishing spots for many estuarine species. This is mainly thanks to the many rivers that have huge catchments and lagoon country that spawn the billions of barramundi fingerlings. Townsville is suitable for the visitors who want a day trip or corporate clients who want to shout out their favourite customers to show their appreciation for their customers loyalty.
Hinchinbrook is about an hour and forty minutes north of Townsville. This is where Ryan conducts most of his fishing charters. Clients stay at a variety of accommodation at Port Hinchinbrook on the southern outskirts of Cardwell. Hinchinbrook is a massive area over some 30 miles long of estuarine waterways and has been closed to commercial netting since 1998 and the quality of the fishing proves just that. Hinchinbrook has been voted the most scenic fishing destination anywhere in Australia, and with its natural beauty it is a breathtaking experience alone and you will not find barramundi fishing like it anywhere else on the east coast.
